I just got a new hard drive a few days ago and am having trouble uploading everything to it from Time Machine. I share Time Machine with my brother, and when I plug it in to boot everything up all that shows up is his computer. I went to the Genius Bar a month ago and had one of them upload all my stuff unto the Time Machine before my computer crashed. I'm not sure if they put my information in the wrong spot in Time Machine. I plugged the external hard drive into my brother's computer to make sure that my stuff is on there and it is all in a folder. I tried moving it to a folder labelled backups but it didn't do anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Just to clarify...

Did you boot from your Leopard install disc and format your new drive?
Are you trying to restore the Time Machine backup while booted from that install disc?

What are your issues?
You will have to give more information than that to get help

Boot from the install DVD
Erase your new drive by selecting Mac OS Extended (journaled)

If using TM, restore from your backup drive
If using a clone, boot from the cloned drive and restore
If you are connecting to your old HD in an external enclosure, install Leopard from the DVD and use Migration Assistant (Firewire only)
