Hi there,

I own an Alesis io26 sound interface which worked well on my previous macbook pro, using the built in firewire 400 interface. I was using the interface powered from the laptop, which was drawing quite a lot of power from the laptop, but never failed.

However, I purchased a new macbook pro, which only has a firewire 800 connection and therefore purchased a firewire 800 to firewire 400 converter and I cannot get it to work anymore. the interface shows in the Audio settings in OSX and in Digital Performer or Logic, but no sound comes out. I seem to have installed all the required drivers.

Has anybody had similar problems with it? Is it due to power not going through the firewire converter? I seem to have installed all the correct drivers and cannot seem to get any help from Alesis.
Please help

Thanks in advance
