My wife and I both have iPhone 3G's that we purchased for Christmas 2008 (5 months old). This problem has been happening for awhile, but it finally caused an actual problem and we need to get it fixed.
Problem: Call the phone (either one) and it'll ring twice and then go to voice mail. The problem is
1) Never shows a missed call
2) If they leave a voice mail it is not received.
This does not happen all the time, but will happen when I have 2-3-4-5 bars of service, so it's not a reception thing.
For example: I just called my wife, 3 times it rang twice, then went to voice mail, the 4th time I finally got through to her. It never showed up on her side that she missed a call.
I've experienced this with Cell Phones calling our phones (other carriers) and Landlines calling.
AT&T Corp store has never heard of this problem before, a 3rd party reseller said it's a handset problem.
Anyone else experience this? How do I fix it? Do I just need to deal with it? Recently my wife missed a voice mail due to this that was a job offer, so it can be a very big problem if it continues.
