I've inherited a macbook pro that refuses to boot/post. When I press the power button the white light in the center (under the trackpad) lights up and the fans come on briefly, I can hear the hard drive spin up, then in roughly 5 seconds the system powers itself off.
I get nothing on the screen, completely black.
What I've tried..
1. Removing either of the two RAM SODIMMs and booting again, same process as above.
2. Removed the keyboard/casing and checked all connectors/tape, no change.
3. Hooked up a DVI monitor in the off chance something would be output there, no change, nothing output.
At this point I'm guessing it's the logic/motherboard, but was hoping someone here might have an additional troubleshooting suggestion I hadn't considered to help me isolate the offending hardware.
Thanks!
