Hi!

Pro Mac user here with a late-2011, 15-inch MacBook Pro (pre-retina). I'm hoping to upgrade to an rMBP this coming year when, hopefully, new rMBPs finally come out. But to be an honest seller of my current MPB, I need to troubleshoot some stuff.

Issue 1: sleep/wake cycle feels whacky and unresponsive

Sometimes, when the computer wakes up from sleep, the "waking" process feels very delayed and the screen may not come up for an extended period. Sometimes this might be a 5 second delay. I think the longest was a 30 second wake delay.

Battery and power source aren't issues here, as this occurs sometimes on a full charge. In fact, it can occur if I go from (1) actively using the screen, (2) closing the screen [sleep], and (3) coming back 30 seconds later to wake the computer and open the screen.

The issue is intermittent which is why I haven't taken it into the Apple Store. May not be able to reproduce the issue on the spot.

Issue 2: Issues with external Apple Cinema Display

Sometimes, when I plug in the connectors for my cinema display, it takes a while for the graphics to "port over" to the cinema display. In other words, the external display doesn't wake up. When I plug in the connectors, nothing happens at the cinema display. To fix the issue, I have to "jiggle" and "shake" the connect chords connecting to the cinema display. Once the connection is made though, it's pretty reliable.

I'm not sure if this is a connection issue with the MacBook "powering" the cinema display or with the cinema display itself. Anybody else have these issues?

Issue 3: I'm a keyboard basher so my keys are falling out

Can anybody recommend a great replacement key set for my model (late-2011 MBP)? t, -, o, p, e, and r seem to be having troubles these days.
