I live in Orlando, have for a while, so I know my cardinal directions pretty much anywhere I am.. magnetic north seems to be more true to my "inner" compass, so I guess that's the one I should be using?

God I'm a nerd.

Considering I-4 East goes North through downtown, anything in Orlando can be up for debate...direction-wise. :D

I have a decent "internal compass". When I moved here, I referred to things (like Altamonte) and being "north on I-4". The puzzled looks I got, now in retrospect, were priceless.

As far as I'm aware, it's a proper magnetometer, hence it should point to magnetic north.

(am prepared to be corrected on the magnetometer point!)

Yeah, how was Millenia this year?

I got my 3G at Millenia last year. Was actually not a bad process! My 3G was the only one in the store that activated and one of the staff members leaned over and said "If I were you, I'd get out of here as soon as possible." and laughed.

This year, I got mine at The Grove in Los Angeles. (not that anyone really cares :p)

Being on the East Coast True North and Magnetic North are so close it shouldnt matter....

West Coast people have more of a difference. I think its up to 6 degrees of declination.

try them both and see which works best for you.....

I doubt I will see anyone actually breaking out topographocal map and orienting it off their iPhone....

and if you are.... well for gods sake buy a $15 silva compass and save your battery
