I've read that if I turn OFF iCloud syncing/backup for iMessages, that messages (and attachments) on iCloud will migrate back to my phone -- as opposed to just vanishing into the ether.

Is that correct?

(The goal here is to backup certain HUGE conversations via iMazing, or something similar. And since iMazing apparently can't access attachments on iCloud, consolidating everything back to my phone seems like a necessary first step.)

Thanks.
