We've all been a little disappointed that the YouTube app on the iPhone 3G doesn't take advantage of the improved bandwidth of the 3G connection to deliver the WiFi quality streams, but instead still streams the same low quality video that EDGE uses.

However I noticed that when using the (free) Truveo app from the App Store to watch these same videos they are in the higher quality. I'm not sure if it always tries to load the higher quality as I haven't tried it on EDGE but it shows that 3G is plenty fast enough to stream these videos.

Hope this helps.
