iPhone XR Try to put music on iPhone - Greyed out?

I'm trying to sync some of my own music from itunes over to iphone. It doesn't appear on the iPhone, and in itunes when I look under the phone section and music it shows the music but its greyed out. Any ideas why its not showing on the phone?

Synced music from another computer so far? Different Apple IDs on phone and computer in use? Has it ever worked?

First time trying it to be honest. I used to subscribe to Apple music but cancelled it, just wanted to put my own music on. Shows fine on itunes but sync to phone all greyed out

Maybe an update for the software required, sometimes an older version of iTunes doesn’t immediately work with a new device.
