Tryin to unzip a file

OK so I'm newly transplanted from the evil pc world. My work sent a zipped file to me and all I want to do is view it. When I download it then double click the file it creates another file labled with something like GBRZ or whatever. When I click that file it duplicates the zip file. Is this some kinda joke..lol Whatever file I click on it just duplicates the other. What the fudge?
 
yeah. Try unzipping on the command line in Terminal. I've been able to unzip things there that I couldn't by double clicking.

In Terminal, type in man unzip for options.
