I need to update the firmware on my Intel Solid state hard drive and since I don't have any blank CD's to burn the .iso image to I figured I could burn it to a usb key drive.

How do I go about doing this using disk utility?

And once I get it burned how will I tell my MBP to boot to the usb key drive?

Open Disk Utility. Drag the .iso file to the left panel. Insert USB drive to computer. In Disk Utility, click the .iso file listed in the left panel. Click the restore tab. From left panel, drag the USB drive listing to the Destination box. Click restore.

When you power on your computer, hold the Option key. Wait for the available boot sources to show up. the USB drive should show up as an orange drive. Use arrows keys and enter key to select it.

It's saying "Invalid argument"

The problem turns out to be that they distribute this update as a Joliet 9660 ISO containing an .exe

What would I need to do then?
