I have had my iPhone 4 for one year as of Wednesday. I called apple on Monday an purchased apple care protection plan because I'm giving it to my wife when the iphone 5 comes out this fall. I recieved the applecare in the mail today and tried to register online but it would not let me. So I called apple and it took over an hour to get it registered.

My question is why can't we just purchase applecare through itunes? Wouldn't that be much easier?

Just buy it online.

Go do the warranty check thing on apples site and then follow the prompts to buy applecare, done. You get the choice of them mailing you the paperwork or sending it via email. There is like a day or so of processing time, not instant. Must go by a human somewhere I guess.

Bought apple care for my iphone4 yesterday... When online registered it. It was real easy and I'm good until July 29 2012 :)
