Trying to change or sell a iMac 24" Intel 2.4ghz for a macbook pro..

Hi everyone!

I have a iMac 24" Aluminum 2.4ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1gb Ram 300gb hd
I am willing to change it for a macbook pro. Cause its more reliable to take it everywhere and do all the same work, and maybe later if i buy a lcd i can connect it to.

My question is which of the macbooks pro is the best option for me , starting with how much i gonna take from the iMac. And where it's the best place to buy it or trade it.. what's my options?

Maybe best putting it on eBay. Imagine some place would want some sort of fees for exchanging it.
