I need to connect a device that connects wirelessly (not through bluetooth). I had followed the advice on this http://www.frequencycast.co.uk/nabaztag.html site however when it came to the instruction to make an "ad hoc" connection I am at a loss. The only 'how to' pages I have found are for routers themselves or other computers/phones that can give input and tell the computer that they are there.
I can see the device I want in the connections list but if I click on it, it takes me off my network and I need to be still connected to the internet for the device to work. It seems odd to me that something that the machine knows is a device not a router would not just connect when you click on it without disconnecting you, but there we are.

On an unrelated note, al my "F" (F1, F2, F3) have suddenly stopped working. It might just be because my computer is a bit old and knackered now.
