I just got a new iMac and I'm trying to get a bunch of files including my iTunes library from my G3 downstairs to the new iMac upstairs.
I vaguely know what I'm supposed to do, but so far I've been unsuccessful.
I know it has something to do with the network option in system preferences, but I'm not sure about anything after that.

make sure both are on the same network, enable file sharing in the "sharing" system preferences on the downstairs system, on the upstairs mac go to go --> "connect to server" (in the finder menu bar), tpye in the downstairs computer's name as "computer.local" (use a hyphen for a space), enter the admin name and password when prompted, and select the volume you wish to mount. Drag and drop.
