I have changed the system date to Feb 14, 2016 via 'Settings' as research elsewhere suggested. I had tried via Terminal but despite following the command syntax all my research said to use, it was incorrect and I couldn't change it that way.

I have disconnected from wifi as well.

I need the bootable USB to re-install Mavericks to a used 2011 MacBook Pro I bought. I had created a bootable High Sierra USB, and reformatted the hard drive, but it wouldn't install, so I'm trying Mavericks as that was the OS the machine shipped with.

The copy of Mavericks I am trying to use I downloaded from ISORiver, if that makes any difference. I also downloaded one from Archive.org but kept getting the "damaged file, move to trash" message so gave up.

I am trying to follow the instructions given here: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...mavericks-download-link.2279301/post-30869726

There were 6 models of 2011 MBPs released (Early 13", 15" & 17" Late 13", 15" & 17"). As a general rule of thumb the 2011 MBP will support Lion (10.7) to High Sierra (10.13).

Here are the Apple instructions with download links for OS installers (Mavericks is not one of the links):

If you have trouble with the links then try right clicking or Control+Click the on the link and select Copy Link from the pop up menu. Then paste the link in your browser.
