Trying to figure how to run iTunes files from HDD not SDD

I have a 3.4 Imac i7 with 2tb HD and 256 SSD. I have movies downloaded from the web and I convert them into MP4 files that go directly into iTunes then I run it to my Apple TV to watch on the big screen. my 256 ssd is full of these movies I can set it this up so my iTunes is being runned on the 2 tb HD every time I use smart converter it copies the files into iTunes on the 256 ssd and I find myself running out of space. Any help would be great thanks.
