Does anyone know how long it would take to get my MBP screen replaced at the Apple Store. Went I first went down and talked to a Genius, he said it could take up to 4-7 days if they were busy. The job itself only took a few hours. I called today to double-check if the parts they needed came in (they forgot to call me). They did, but when I asked how long the repair would take, the guy on the phone said I would have to come in and drop it off to find out. My MBP is my only computer ATM and I do not want to be without it for a week+. I just want a rough estimate before I go back home, get my MBP, and then travel back into the city to drop it off at the Apple Store.

Thanks ahead of time for any info you can share.

I had an LCD replacement a while back and it took just over three days, but it could certainly take longer if they're busy/behind schedule. Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid downtime, and apple will ultimately take however long they want to do the repair. But if you need the replacement, you just have to suck it up and drop it off.

: sigh: Had a feeling that would be the problem. Just wish they could give me an estimate over the phone. Thanks for the heads up.

Why are you getting a replacement screen, if you don't mind me asking?

Actually not getting screen replaced. I have these black spots on the lower left hand side of my screen and the Genius thinks its just dust, so they are just replacing the clamshell "cover" for the screen, cleaning the screen while doing so.

I think its dead pixels, but we will see when I get it back (today or tomorrow).

Update: Wow, that was fast. They called me about 30 or so mins ago and said it was ready for pickup. Here's hoping that is was just dust and not dead pixels. I don't want to have to bring it in yet again. Was having withdrawal symptoms last night.
