Trying to get audio from mini display port..

I have the 13inch MBP and I'm trying to figure out if there is a DP to HDMI adapter which will transmit sound to my monitor.

Apple has disabled audio-out from the Mini Display Port. You'll have to buy a second adapter to plug into the audio jack in order to get sounds.

I don't really want to make another thread for my audio woes, so i'll just put this here.


does using a 3.5mm Y splitter decrease the audio quality? 99% of the time I'll only be using one side of it.

When its not sharing the signal, then no it won't matter in audio quality.
