I've been trying to wait for Skylake before I update my laptop, but everyday it seems like my laptop is slower and slower. It also gets pretty hot even though I'm not using super intense programs. I've read comments saying that the technology in the current MBPs are a couple years old though; is that a big deal? It still seems like a stellar machine, and the weight difference alone makes it extremely appealing since my current laptop is like a brick.

I couldn't wait any longer so I just snagged a refurb model with Iris for now. The updates are rumored for March or close, latest would probably be June/July...I highly doubt they'd wait till end of the year Oct/Nov rush. May just hold onto this until we see refurbs from the new model and then upgrade again. The models are a bit old in terms what hardware they're using, but that doesn't mean they're slow by any means.
