I do the initial install 10.7 from 10.6.8 and the mac reboots. Then It freezes after about a minute of being on the white screen with apple logo and spinning circle. The fans ramp up a bit before it freezes, and then it goes nearly silent. I've tried every keyboard shortcut/command on the apple website without really any positive results. USB installation won't work as it seems I have to have 10.6 on before I install 10.7. I set the system clock to 2014 as to not upset any certificates.

I start in Verbose mode to maybe give me a clue about what's going on (youtube doesn't tell me very much either).

The 3rd to last message before it goes back to the white screen and freezes is this:

SMC: macreadkeyaction error: macreaddata0 failed for key BEMB (ksmckeynotfound)

After that it gives Ethernet port addresses.

I've included a screenshot of a video I took (trying to keep it in decent focus) as it might give more clues that I realise.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but the ATI Radeon X1900XT which is original to the computer is failing, and I do have a replacement on the way.

I also tried to Google it, and came up with nothing. I even tried shorter variations of it with no success.
