Hey guys! Im new to the mac world, so this may sound stupid. I am trying to install tiger from a dmg file. everytime i try to start the installation it says click to restart. after i restart nothing happens and the mounted install image is gone, and i have to re-mount it. and then the same thing just keeps happening, restarting and nothing. any suggestions?

Just pop the install disc it and click the "Install Mac OS X" icon. It'll walk you through everything.

i have the original dvd, but my dog chewed it up and the drive is not reading it. I have reverted to panther, but I would really like to use tiger since i bought it and all. and to make matters worse my burner is not working at all, so i cant burn it either :(.

You'll need to get a new disc...contact Apple and see if they can do anything for you. Otherwise you'll have to purchase it...decent deals can often be found on eBay.
