I need to clean up some files and have a problem.

I have several folders which contain similar information. Some of the files may be the same and some of the files may be different. When I attempt to put the 'music' folder into the music department files, I have the option of replacing the preexisting 'music' file with the new one, or not copying at all.

Is there someway I can merge the two files? Sometimes I need to have both the songs.doc as I do not know which is the updated file and which is not. Although I have gone through and deleted all the duplicates I could identify.
So I want to be able to copy the second file if the names are the same and also keep all of the different files from both folders.

I am using MyBook as my external harddrive.
My iMac is a 2.16GHz with OS X.

Thanks, Mary
