hi, i have a 250gb seagate external hard drive and my mac book is starting to crap out on me so i went and put all my music on the hard drive. but when i connect it to my windows desktop it wont register. does anyone know how to fix that or if there is any other way around it?

I guess your seagate is formatted for Mac. Easiest thing to do is search for hfs+ on windows. there is at least one app you can buy that will let you read and write to it on windows.
The immediate next step I suggest you take after that is to buy a second disk and copy the seagate onto that via your windows box, so you have a backup as it would appear the only place your data lives is that drive?
