Good morning everyone,

As well as using Time Machine as a back-up, I also back all my files up to an external hard drive. However, this drive is now filling up and I need to archive the older folders and files on to DVDs.

Does anyone know how I can automate the process to find all folder created before a certain date and move them to a DVD to be burned ... and delete the originals from the hard drive they are on?

I have been trying to use Automator like this:
  1. Get specified Finder Items (the folder that contains all the files)
  2. Get folder contents (with the option to search the sub flders as well)
  3. Filter Finder items
But then the Automator breaks and says:
Spotlight failed to find the file named "Office Items." Please make sure privacy has not been enabled for this file in Systems Preferences. (-212)

I have double checked and there are no privacy settings selected that could affect this, so not sure what's happening.

Does anyone know ho I can wither fix this issue or find a different way to archive the items?

Thanks in advance.

Simon
