Thinking about getting an iphone but i have a couple of problems.

1. Can i add an iphone to a family share plan in regards to minutes and txt messages . I understand you need to pay 30 bucks a month for data but my question is can just take the minutes and txt messages to my iphone .

2. General question - how can these cell companies charge so much , its ridiculous?

What country and carrier?

Most carriers force you into signing up for a data plan when you purchase a 'smartphone' such as an iPhone. This is where they make their money back for selling the device for dirt cheap.

You cannot simply get voice and minutes now-a-days for an iPhone...

But what country and carrier?

Because people will pay it.

Yes, you can share minutes and text plans on a family plan.
If you go with AT&T their plans are a little cheaper and you can get a low data plan for $15 or 2GB's for $25.
And get the lowest minute family plan and add unlimited calling to any cellphone on any carrier for free if you add unlimited texting to your family account.
