The problem comes when I try to install the Bootcamp Drivers.

The problem I had was trying to decide which files to open when installing drivers.

Do I need to click on 64bit.xml before I do setup? I believe setup opens another set of drivers.

I had no luck trying to install the trackpad drivers for Windows on my MBP.

I had no issues installing the drivers on Windows 8.
Right click on the Setup.exe
Select the Compatibility tab
In the drop down list, select run in Windows 7 compatibility

(mind you, this all needs to be done from inside of Windows, not OS X).

Thx. It is still trying to re-install the basic Win7 right now. I am certain I skipped the "compatibility" step you mentioned. Therein must have been the problem.

If you're installing the Boot Camp 3.0 drivers for your Windows 8 install, you will have to run the Setup.exe under compatibility mode (just needed to put it under Windows 7 mode). I had to do this after I installed Windows 8 on my MacBook Pro.
