iPod touch Trying to reset a jailbroken IPOD Touch and it is frozen

Like the title says I am trying to reset my sons IPOD touch. When I did that off of the settings I get the apple logo with a white circle. I heard something about holding down a hold button and menu. Where are these two buttons and what needs to be done to make this work.

And I hope I did the right thing, I bought it used not knowing it was jailbroke. So after we tried to download music I was told that I needed to reset it. Any help would be great

try restoring it with iTunes.
