So I backup my time machine backups to a AFP NAS storage device. The time machine works flawlessly and everything backs up as it should. I decided to go with a new PC and when I go to restore from time machine backup it can not find the AFP hard drive? Do I need to mount it somehow? Can do I do this through the installation disc? Any help would be appreciated.

The drive needs to be accessible and mounted for a restore to occur.

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Restore to a PC? Is this a running windows or is it a hackintosh?

Im sorry I must have typed incorrectly. I have a new iMac and I am trying to restore from an AFP network drive. So I would like to know how I can mount the AFP drive in the Mac OS X Installer environment. Meaning when I first get the new computer or when I go to the install disc from boot up. It is not seeing the AFP time machine backup.

I don't believe you can, which is why I don't go that route with my backups.
