trying to unlock 1st gen iphone

hey guys, found my first gen iphone in a cupboard, been trying to jailbreak and unlock it, jailbreak went well, its now running 2.2.1, I used pwnage which was meant to jaolbreak and unlock but the unlock did not work, also its not picking up any wifi, so im unable to try and unlock it through cydia,
I tried putting 3.1.2 on it but that didnt work, any suggestions to get this thing unlocked or at the very least working with wifi?

Why can't you flash it to 3.1.3? Tried DFU?

I seem to remember using QuickPwn for 2.x and WinPwn for 3.x on my 2G.

pwnage tool says wrong bundle selected when i choose 3,1,3??

IIRC, you actually point it to the 3.1.2 IPSW. Check iclarified.com for full instructions.

i followed they instructions but was never asked about the bl 39 and bl 46 files, im thinking thats what went wrong with the unlock, and i did point it to the IPSW and it said wrong bundle, works fine with 2,2,1 although no unlock and no wifi working

its not bad but since i have no wifi i cant really say for sure! the os seems fine for a near 4 year old phone !

Thanks, hackthatphone! Your tutorials are so straightforward and easy to follow, I pulled my original iPhone out of hiding and am charging it up now. Might as well put it to use on an upcoming trip to Canada since my husband upgraded his iPhone 4 past the only unlockable baseband. LOL

You can also download/install BootNeuter from Cydia, which will unlock it.

After installing, go into the app.
