Trying to update from 16A284a

Hi everyone!

I just installed the public beta with build number 16A284a.

I am on a Late 2013 21.5(Non retina) iMac. Is this build number the most current available?

Yes. It is the latest build for macOS Sierra beta.

I've seen some with 16A286a but I'm pretty sure that's Developer Preview build

If you got it as an update, DP5 and PB4 have the same build number. One way to tell them apart is that for PB4 the feedback app will be in the dock wheras for DP5 it isn't.

If you got it as a full installer, you get a slightly lower build, but that doesn't matter.

True for me, although (recalling an earlier round of updates) if there's a full installer, the resulting build may differ. I can't tell whether there's a full installer.

I have the Buildnumber 16A284a too. Public Beta 4 with Clean Install.

Also, 284a has the new iTunes while 286a does not and there's no way to get it. Weird.

Love the new album view in iTunes.

It is confusing, but 16A284a came out after 16A286a.

So what I said before is still true. 16A284a is the latest build.

There is no need to update it to 16A286a. Just wait till PB5 comes out before attempting to update.

Likewise there is no need to "downgrade" 16A286a to 16A284a.

They are essentially the same, except that 16A284a comes as a full installer for PB4 whereas 16A286a comes as an update to previous betas.

Actually there is. With 16A286a just update itunes via updates tab in the mac app store. If that doesn't work you can use the direct links in apple's developer forums.

12.5.0.68 ? I couldn't get it earlier and after installing packages manually it didn't even open. Maybe they've fixed it now.

I had it available as an update on the 12th. (on 16A286a)

Well, with this morning's update - OS is now 16A294a and iTunes remains @ 12.5.0.68.
