TRYING to update to 2.1...

prior to installing the update on the phone, it has been backing up for THREE HOURS NOW, and the back up is 1/2 way through. I have pretty much NOTHING on the phone too, just a few pictures!!!

Wtf, and what should i do....i mean will it finish soon or what?

I would stop the backup, make sure you are not syncing any applications (ie. everything is uninstalled), then go into the preferences and delete any old backups.

restart the phone, and try to sync. it should only take a minute or so to backup.

note: you will lose all your app settings / high scores / etc if that matters to you.

mine did the same. just hit the little X in the top box to abort the backup and let it do it's thing. If that does not work unplug and re-plug it in and try to abort the backup before it can backup. Took me like 3 tries before I could avoid a 3 hour backup to install 2.1 to have it backup in 5 seconds exactly.
