anyone else go tubing?

I waterski, but tubing is more fun. full ballast tanks in the wakeboard boat + mid afternoon waves from other boats = great time.

This is the best part:)

wow....thats quite different from the tubing we do around here. basically people get in inner tubes and float down the comal river in new braunfels with a cooler of beer (cooler of beer optional).

that looks more fun :p

Yeah, I was at my Family's cottage on the weekend and saw those on the lake. The previous week on the news they had a "Consumer Report" study where a number of people have died from exactly that. They're 'flying' then a gust of air violently throws them into the water, where upon impact bones can be broken. They had home footage of a couple of brothers in Edmonton and the exact same thing happened, if not higher and the brother on the tube broke some bones (I think a rib bone too) and was knocked unconscious.

Regardless of the incidents, they are pretty cool!:) But as mentioned when I was younger my family didn't have much money so we (brother, friends and I) would grab punctured inner tubes from one of the farm tractors, patch it, and float down the river to the General store with a 6-pack of Coca-Cola--later to be followed by beer;)

That's close to what we do around here, too. Except it's a different river. Also, the cooler of beer is not optional. :p

Same here -- there are two or three springwater rivers on which this is possible. It's okay, but it's awfully passive for me. I'd much rather be in a kayak....

But it's much easier to hold your beer while tubing than it is while you're in a kayak.

That instead of Schlitterbahn?

I tube, but just the good old simple kind pulled behind a boat.

Though to be honest I'd much rather be doing this.

Yeah, just the other day I was sent an internet by a friend and I just now got it this morning. It's not a big truck you just dump something on.
