the iPhone was a rumor... and intel was a rumor.

Think about it :D

You know, though I don't actually know you, I for some reason today thought "Hey, I haven't seen her post in a loooong time. I wonder if I'm just not seeing the posts, or if she left like so many other regulars".

Apparently, you're still here. Bravo. Now smash this man's dreams, don't give him hope!

Maybe I should be a little more succienct.. is there any basis for the rumor? A convention? A planned news confrence? One hundred FedEx trucks sitting at the dock loaded with new Mac's ready to drive off at 7am Tuesday morning? Or did someone just arbitrarily pick 2/20?

Quaaludes, dude. That's how all the rumors on this site get started.

THAT'S how we do it. Now tell him Apple has decided to stop making computers and software all together, and will focus only on the iPod!

We're only talking about the Mac today... then we introduce the iPhone and :apple: Tv.
(ok, it was a typo, but rabble rabble! Rabble!!);)

In all seriousness, they tend to release stuff on tuesdays.
That's why the G5 POWERBOOKS ON TUESDAY!1!1!1! joke was funny the first time, but not the 8,000 subsequent times. :)

Apple was founded on April 1st, 1976, a THURSDAY, but that starts with T, just like "Tuesday".
They tend to release things on tuesdays, as can be seen in that special invitation, and the 2G nanos came out on 9/12/06 (a tuesday) and these were all tuesdays.
Sure, some were on other days of the week, but it's been predominantly tuesday.

and, as a bonus, here is a joke webpage about how the Apple product release cycle goes... It's funny because it's true. NOW, will the iPhone sync with my PowerBook 150?? WHY NOT?

I'm so productive at 1 am.

The only thing I see possibly happening is a silent bump to the Mac Mini / Mac Pro line. Leopard and iLife may be released sometime soon, but there will probably be an event with release shortly after that. Since we haven't heard anything about an event anytime soon - no invitations, no rumors - don't expect Leopard and iLife soon.

something would be nice.

name ONE mac-only announcement that apple made this year.

1) :apple: TV - Mac and pc

2) iPhone - Mac and pc

3) new Airport - Mac and pc (even printer sharing is cross-platform)

4) new color shuffles? that can go with both, and even linux ;)

5) 802.11n enabler? if you bought a core 2 duo mac, you already paid for the hardware, so it shouldn't count.

...does apple care about the macs anymore? :(
if they do, we're desperately overdue for a update of any kind.

*crosses fingers for redesigned iMac, b/c it hits the average on tuesday :D *

This thread isn't really going anywhere, and we already have a perfectly good thread with 10 pages of comments on this here. Feel free to read up on things there.
