has anybody used this? seems to drop wayyyy too fast. 30 minutes of using this drops 20%. doesnt seem right to me. Havent tested pandora or any other internet radio yet. but this seems horrible.

The only problems I've had have been with my WiFi connection, rather than the app itself - other than that, it's been fine.

no problems with the phone heating up during internet radio apps? or maps app? turn by turn. seems to kill the battery super fast.

I went on a 25 minute walk the other day and it dropped 10 percent using Tune-in. Still haven't used it enough on the 5 yet to make a judgement.

including it's uses of battery / no abnormal draining of battery when Tune in Radio is ON while am doing some other tasks - what else you expect it to mean, unless you want a novel about it :D? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TuneIn keeps the cel radio on full time when running, since it's streaming the music continuously. LTE consumes more power than 3G.

Hence, it will kill your battery quickly.

Pandora is more intelligent; it will stream the entire song in one burst, then not transfer data until the next song.

Try disabling LTE; that might help. 3G is usually enough bandwidth for TuneIn stations.

My wife's iP4S's battery usage when on tune in radio are very similar to my iP5's battery usage. Having noted that, I feel my iP5's battery is performing very well with these sorts of apps.

I use ooTunes, doesn't seem anymore battery intensive than on the iP4.

I have no complaints with it at all.

Tune in is fine for me....If you use maps in conjunction with the find my friends app, that will kill battery life. I tried it a couple of days back and went through 30% battery in half an hour...I was using it in 3D and constantly refreshing it though...As a test it was okay, but if you wanted to use it all the time, you'd need an extra battery or have it plugged into the car charger, which is what it was designed for I guess.

Allowing it to refresh on its own gives a little more battery life, but it's still heavy.

basically 2-4 bars on 4g. not lte in this area.

Thanks. I'm in the UK, so just been using 3G - at the weekend, when I was out and about, I was using Tune In for about 30 minutes and the battery went down by around 7%.

this is my usage today. light usage facebook instagram safari not much. and 45 minutes tune in radio and 30 pandora.
seem normal?

I feel your pain. I use tune-in almost every day at work and it kills my iphone 5 battery so damn fast. On my iphone 4, it would drain like 30% every 2 1/2 hours or so. Now, on my iphone 5, it kills 30% in about 1 hour. I have LTE and WIFI off. So it's on 4G only. Also, my iphone 5 gets really warm while in tune-in is in use. That didn't happen on the iphone 4. Now, I know that it has a new processor and that might affect it but it's a little concerning. If I watch videos stored on the phone, it doesn't get warm or drain battery. I watched a 2 hour movie and the battery only dropped like 10%. I've tried all kinds of fixes posted on here and on the apple forums to no avail...:(

I use Digitaly Imported and I have the same issue. Battery seems to drain faster than my iP4 and it seems to have a slighty worse time keeping the stream going in my office. I have to prop my phone up on a coffee mug to give it a slightly better reception.

iphone 5 + tunein pro = dead battery

Same problem here. Even with wifi and lte off, and playing a recording (i.e. not streaming) the battery drains FAST. From 100%-10% in about 4 hours. Don't think I see this in other apps, seems to be a tunein radio problem.
