TuneIn Radio distorted after abount a minute of play.
iPad 2 32GB black on iOS 4.3.1 (Problem was also there on 4.3)
TuneIn RadioI Pad 1 on same WIFI runs fine.

tried to remove the app and re-install, the update to 4.3.1 was a restore and new ipad. problem was present before upgrade. Any ideas?

I'm running 4.3 and it works fine for me. Just to test, when I read your post I tried it out. Have gone over 20 minutes of flipping through stations without any problems.

It plays nicely in the background and I havent seen any hitches with it since I've had the iPad 2.

Plays ok for about a minute then distortions.

help

I put IPAD 2 in recovery mode. restored 4.3.1, set up as new, installed only tunein radio, it plays fine for 1 minute the distorts. california 101 FM try it please.

I have an Ipad 1 on the same wifi working fine.

Everything else on ipad2 works fine.

Is an ipad defective if one app in unstable?

Having TuneIn Radio Issues as well

I'm having the same issues as well. My setup is an iPad 2 wifi running 4.3.0. Plays just fine on all my other devices such as 1st and 2nd gen iTouches and iPhones (3g, 3gs and 4g running 4.1 or older). I'm not sure if it's software specific, but it's really annoying as I usually like to stream my music at work. The audio sound good for about 1 minute then starts to skip. I've bumped up the buffer time to the max amount of 30 seconds and it does not seem to make any difference. Network sources to stream from seem to make no difference. Any others who can validate this would be greatly appreciated.

Was starting to think it was just me. Tried every possible setting, restored uninstalled and installed the app, wifi g/n. Tunein has got a problem on ipad2. Or my iPad 2 is broken.

Same problem over here!

So freaking annoying!

iPad 3G 64GB white and latest version of tunein radio

Tried multiple stations, same problem if on wifi or 3G

Same problem for me. Plays fine for a while, then as soon as I ask the iPad to send any more IP traffic (go into safari for example) - then the audio messes up.

Annoying!

TuneIn Radio issues are there

I too have been experiencing this! It seems to be more prevalent with MP3s streams vs AAC or WMV streams. These same streams on the iPad 2 through WunderRadio have NO glitches, but on TuneIn Radio it distorts rather quickly. Changing the settings make no difference nor does WIFI or 3G. I love the interface would definitely like to continue to use this! Even my friends with iPad 1 don't have this issue. :( Hopefully TuneIn will release a fix!

Yup, same here. Audio begins to have small glitches and sometimes it almost sounds as the singer is gagging underwater. Annoying, definitely!

We are working on an upgrade to the app we should be able to push soon which will fix this issue with iPads.

The issue is that MP3 and AAC streams may exhibit a skipping sound periodically. A possible workaround is to switch to a WMA or other format stream if available by selecting Choose stream in the options menu.

The issue is due to the fact that the iPad 2 is the first dual-core iOS device. It revealed a race condition in that part of the code that hadn't affected other devices.

Sorry for the confusion, we do hope to have it rectified soon. In the meantime, thanks for using TuneIn. If you have more support issues, you can email support ::at:: tunein.com or tweet us @HelpMeTI.

Thanks!

-Mike at TuneIn

Thanks for addressing the issue :) was wondering if it was just me.

Another update for you guys. We got approval on our update (to version 1.8) which should clean up the issue. The update should be available today.

If you have any other problems, feel free to shoot an email to support ::at:: tunein.com and thanks for using our app!

Hallelujah! The problem is fixed! No issues to report so far. Thanks Mike and TuneIn Radio! ...now back to my music.

This is a great app and it's nice to see the developer being this responsive to issues. I wonder what the odds are of getting AirPlay functionality in this? It would be great to send the audio to my outdoor speakers via AirPort express. Regardless, keep up the good work.
