Does anyone here use TunesKit? I love how simple it´s to buy movies on iTunes and it has reduced my blu-ray costs a lot since apple tv 4k supports 24p. But I hate that I must use home sharing to get them to my Apple TV. I know I can stream my movies from Apple servers but I have done the job with convert my blu-ray collectionen to H265 and it whold be nice to collect all movies under the same "app". Home sharing works but it is so freaking limited and requier itunes 24/7 =(

I downloaded the demo of tuneskit and it works with nearly 100 % quality even for my 77" screen. But can I trust tuneskit and fastspring my credit card number ;)

I'm 100 % total against piracy and wouldt not even dream about downloading a movie. But I'm also 100% against not being able to use my purchases as I want.

So, does anyone here use it and are totaly happy with it?

I use it with PLEX as the server of my purchases. I personally do not see this any difference then ripping a DVD or Bluray. The only problem is that macOS / iTunes updates usually brakes it. I think it is broken now and it has been for a bit of time. Longer then normal for them to fix it so may turn out to be a major issue for macOS. If you use Windows then I believe it has not been an issue. They are on Facebook and Twitter so you can follow them.

This is the latest on FB that I was able to see. I think 15 hours ago,

TunesKit Sorry Andreas. Are you using TunesKit M4V Converter? If so, we are sorry that currently it doesn't work well with macOS High Sierra yet. We are working on it now. But since it's too complicated, we can't provide ETA for the solution. Therefore, we highly suggest you downgrade your macOS to Sierra in order to use the program properly. Or if you have any Windows PC, we'd like to switch your license to Windows version for free. Thanks for your understanding.

Hi Huggi,
Surely it is better to get used to the iTunes film app on your Apple TV 4K as long term, most of your purchases will be available from Apple's servers in 4K Dolby Vision? It's clear that this is how iTunes 4K is going and of course, Dolby Atmos will be added soon.
As of now, it's HD to download or HD DV HDR with iPhone 8/X, iPad Pro for on the move and back up and 4K DV HDR streaming with Atmos (soon).

You can install Parallels and install and older Mac OS X and run all in a virtual machine. I know Apple don´t agree to that but it works out of box with Parallels to run Mac OS as virtual machine. I just tried the trial version wich I installed 10.11 with and it works perfectly! Mac OS belives you run on your own hardware.

Interesting this works in a VM - what VM settings have you used in terms of resouces? I've always found TunesKit and M4VGear to not convert when using a VM. With the recent Spectre vulnerability and this being patched in the latest High-Sierra update it would be an obvious choice to update from Sierra however I've recently declined from doing so as Tuneskit is the only app holding me back from doing so.

It’s working great on my Mac Pro with parallels 13 and 10.11.

On my iMac with 10.12 in parallels 13 it’s a no go so with that machine I had to install Windows 7 in parrlelles and it’s works as it sholuld.

I used a standard setting VM machine in parallels 13.

I will try to make it work in Sierra on my iMac when I have more time. But i just paid for the winversion so it’s not top prio.

So TunesKit doesnt work in parallels on 10.12 then or did you mean you couldnt install 10.12 in parallels?

I have not been able to make tuneskit working in parallels under sierra. No problems to install sierra in parallels.

I could not hold my self and made a new installation with Sierra and tuneskit in parallels and now it´s working!

as long as it fully completes a conversion?

I only have the demo-version of tuneskit in mac os wich is limited to 5 minutes but tuneskit compleated those 5 minutes!

Install the demo-version of parallels and setup a vm and try so you can be sure it´s working for you! For me it took 2 installations before it worked så maybe it´s not 100 % stable.

What version of Sierra are you running? As well as iTunes version?

I have been using Tuneskit for Mac for a number of years and think that it is a terrific product as like many users, I run a Plex server. Some of my older purchases I have re-ripped as Tuneskit have offered newer features in updates like Chapter preservation/inclusion of subtitles etc. I fortunately have an older Mac running Sierra so can use this without issues but on my newer mac/High Sierra I have had to use the Windows version through Parallels.

I'm not sure that, that really is a nice solution. Let me explain. 1. iTunes streaming will give you the 4K Dolby Vision / HDR experience which you won't get with the 1080p download.
2. You'll be missing out on all of the amazing iTunes Extras (which I love).
3. When Apple implement Dolby Atmos, you can bet that it'll only be on the 4K files.
4. You're missing out of the latest updated files.

Maybe in time, you'll replace your favourite rips with iTunes 4K versions. I to have a few films downloaded which I home share from my MacBook but in reality, I tend to have five or six films which are favourites which tend to get watched the most - for that, I much prefer the Apple TV way of streaming.
