i saw some kids the other day watching this thing about a highway on ramp in the middle east that was supposed to be a turnaround on ramp, but instead it positioned the cars facing oncoming traffic.

here is a poor drawing i did.
and the arrows are correctly pointing the flow of traffic.
(edit: wow epic fail, the arrow in the bottom right is wrong. jebus. its changed now.)

there is some more on this around the net but i just can't seem to find it.

hilarious non the less

that video is funny but not what happened.

that semi and every car would have had to make a turn like that to go the correct way

i do not think anyone gets this except a few (i didn't at first)
the bottom drawing is how it is supposed to go,
the top is how they made it.
and the flow of traffic from both pics is exactly the same.
bottom lane going east, top lane going west.
but in the top drawing the ramp positions the cars facing on coming traffic.

now imagine that video that someone put with the semi truck.
in this case, the semi trucks turn onto the highway would put him in the correct flow of traffic.

Everyone gets it, but what's the point? You still haven't linked any actual documentation -- news reports or photographs to verify it. You just keep posting these hand drawings.
Well said.

To the OP, we definitely "get" your drawings. Please give us a link or video reference.

As for the video that someone else posted that they found by chance ... that's just crazy.

ya im sry about not having any real info.

i remember the video being in Arabic or farseeses (no clue how to spell that) so its a little hard to search for it. which i have. i really want to show you guys this too, so...

ill ask this one kid, tomorrow

Having worked in construction for a number of years including a bit of highway work, I find it very hard to believe that in the 6 months or more that it would take to build something like this that no one would stop to think about what they are doing.

I admit that construction workers don't have a reputation for being the sharpest tools in the shed but this scenario would also require the municipality, engineer, and inspector to all miss this glaring problem as well. If the OP did in fact see this video, it must have been a belated April Fools video similar to the Italian spaghetti farmers.

it was in a news report.
i forgot to ask this kid were it was but ill try and ask today.
i know where your coming from about all the people who had to over look this, but the report seemed pretty legit.

possibly....

no but funny non the less.
i asked him today and he said it was on youtube.
which is a lame answer, and he forgot what the name was.

i just looked, and kinda got nothing.

i do not really know what would be a good title to search for.
i did
middle east freeway on ramp mess up
on ramp mess up
freeway on ramp mess up
middle east engineering mess up

didn't really find anything.
someone please, just try and search for it, i really want to see it again.
i would search more but i really have to study.

i will check latter and try

Yup. Any person can look at the drawing and see that it's a problem. Probably just a fake news story done for a comedy show.

And that photo above is probably a photoshop job. They would know something won't line up when they put down the foundation or if they are blind, when they put up the support beams they would know it won't line up. They definitely won't be building to that point shown in that "photo".
