I just purchased the eagle in angry birds and now everytime I use it, every hour when it becomes available I get a notification that it's back. I've gone through the settings and turned off all possible notifications under angry birds and this still happens.

Anyone know how to get rid of it?

You buy it once for $.99 and use it once for a level you can't get through for feather points?

It's unusable for the next hour and it will give you a pop notification when it's available. This is when it's annoying as it woke me up from sleep last night. Almost regretting getting it.

So to answer your question, yes you can use more than once after a one time $.99 purchase.

The eagle can be used as many times as you want without the hour wait on levels that you've already completed...on levels you've yet to complete, only once in an hour...the eagle is great, it changes the way you have to play each stage...buying the eagle basically made ALL the levels new and replayable

I'm seriously confused about what the "eagle" is?

Yeah, I noticed this too.

It's as if the Eagle-Update has its OWN notifications that are separate from the game's notifications. It sends pop up messages and icon badges despite the fact that I have them turned off for the app itself.

I like the Eagle, it's worth the dollar. (It's not just a cheat...it's its own game where you try to achive a 100% feather on every level with it.) But this notification thing is annoying. They need to fix it.

Gonna Tweet Rovio later but i had one notification which opened the game.I then shut it, i've had none since.

Has everyone else been opening the game straight from the notification?

They're probably Local Notifications.

There isn't a way to turn Local Notifications off as far as I know.

Any game that uses local notifications without your expressed permission should be deleted. Eenies also does this and you can't turn it off.

Semi update, from Rovio:

Q: How can I stop receiving notifications from Angry Birds?

A: The current version of Angry Birds (version 1.5.1) has a bug that causes notifications to appear even though notifications are disabled from the phone settings. This will be fixed in a following update.
