Turn off "auto access" to iTunes store?

Sometimes I'll be away from an internet connection or unable to access one. When iTunes launches, though, it seems to automatically try to connect to the iTunes store. I then have to go back to that space and click "OK", and that gets annoying.

I can't find a setting to turn off this option, but I can't believe there's not one. Any ideas?
