Well, pretty much the title says it all - I'm wondering if I can turn off the auto-dimming display when I plug in my MBP. I still want this feature on because it improves battery life considerably.
Just get Caffeine and turn it on when you plug it in, and turn it off when you unplug.
Doesn't it auto-dim when unplugged to save battery life, rather than dimming when plugged-in?
The setting is under Apple > System Preferences > Energy Saver
I'm not sure I understand your question though - you want to turn it off but you still want it on??
I'm sorry, I guess I didn't make my question clear. I'm talking about the ambient light sensor feature where the display brightness adjusts based on the room's brightness. (System Preferences>Displays>Automatically adjust brightness as ambient light changes) I'd like for my MBP to auto-dim when on battery but be at full brightness when plugged in.
Darn. That would be really nice.I dont think you can make the auto brightness features different for both profiles. but if you want to turn it off, you go to System Preferences>Displays then click on the tick box on the bottom of the page that says "Automatically adjust brightness as ambient light changes"
