So i just got my 15" Retina MBP and noticed immediately that under the power settings one option/slider was gone - the one where you can choose how long until the mac should go into sleep mode - or if at all. I can only choose after how many minutes it should turn off the screen.

Is there another way to turn off the sleep mode?

I see it on my rMBP running Mavericks

Or am I misunderstanding your post.

My Late 2013 iMac is the same. It is to do with the year. 2012 and newer had a change in regulations to keep in with energy laws I believe.

Weird, my 2012 rMBP has it, but it seems some of you folks no longer have that option.

Hibernation/sleep mode in mavericks on late 2013 MacbookPro

it is there; looks a bit different though....
