Hi all!

I got a TFT display from my brother who doesn't need it anymore. I can connect it to the VGA port of my iMac and it mirrors the main display. I found out that nothing more is possible. But it should be possible to turn off the iMac CRT if I only want to use the TFT, shouldn't it? Any ideas?

No you can't turn the CRT off.

You could open up the iMac and disconnect the cables between the analog board and video board.

That would be highly dangerous! and I'm not entirely sure that running them disconnected wouldn't cause damage in itself. Basically if you don't know how to work on CRT components I'd leave it alone.

Ok, thanks. I just solved it by turning my iMac around. It's not beautiful but it's just until the Power Mac arrives... ;)
