Turn off News notifications

So I recently got an Apple Watch (Series 0), running WatchOS 3. I've been trying to turn off the News notifications from popping up on my watch, but unable to do so. The notifications are turned off on the Watch app on my phone but that doesn't seem to help. Anyone know how I can do this?

I have this same issue. I keep getting Apple News notification on my watch. I have toggled off the notification for News within the watch iPhone app (under mirror phone alerts from). I really want to stop getting these alerts on my watch.

I had the same issue. I ended up just turning the news notifications off altogether on my phone as well. This worked, but is an imperfect solution.

I have always had news notifications turned off on the phone. Thay have never popped up on my watch.

Obviously not a solution if you want them on the phone though....

Sure i could turn them all off, but I would like to have them on the phone, just not on the watch.
