I upgraded to iOS 12 on my iPhone recently, and I've noticed that whenever I receive a call, it doesn't show the entire phone number like it did on iOS 11 and earlier. Instead, it scrolls the phone number across the top of the screen. You can't see all of the phone number at once, you have to stare at the screen for a few seconds to see the entire number. This is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Any way to turn it off?

No, I didn't even know it was possible to change the system font.

I forgot to mention I have an iPhone SE. Maybe that's why?

It's possible that less fits on the smaller screen--it seems that iOS 12 introduced that for numbers that don't fit on the screen, and for phones that have screens larger than 4 inches it seems that only applies in some situations where the number is longer than typical (if there are extra international codes or extension is used or something like that).

The number always fit on iOS 11. I seem to remember the phone number always showing as (555) 555-5555 on iOS 11. But for some reason, on iOS 12 it is always showing +1 (555) 555-5555, which doesn't fit and it has to scroll. I'm not sure why it's putting the +1 in front of a domestic call.

Yeah my SE has done the same thing since iOS 12. Really annoying, but I haven't seen any way to change it. If someone has a workaround of some kind, then I would like to know as well.

Unfortunately, it seems Apple is moving away from people who have/prefer smaller phones so it makes sense that iOS would go that way as well.

The number would actually fit if they didn't show the +1 in front of the phone number. Not sure why they are doing that.

I think part of it is that they might have shrunk down the size to make it fit before.
