I turned my old Macbook (2007 mid) 2.16GHz,1 gig ram,160 g hd into a chromebook .

I made the usb stick (live stick) using another chromebook I had, says you can also use a windows computer...not sure if you can make from a macbook or other mac computer?

I did the harddrive install (***be logged out*** to install to harddrive) and it works great!

Everything is working (wifi, trackpad, brightness, sound keys ect)

Boot's fairly fast ... this old macbook now is just as good as any $$$ chromebook.

The free version only updates every two/three weeks...considering I was running Snow Leopard (highest osx version I could run,and no longer supported) having a secure older macbook is a real bonus.
