So I turned on FileVault this morning and noticed a few quick things that I am not sure are issues or not. First of all, the encrypting on my rMBP 2015 took 20 minutes, BUT the optimizing took hours. I left my MBP on, and I would check periodically and it would go from 15 hours to more than a day to 3 hours and back and forth. I did notice eventually though that when I moved my cursor, it sped up a bit. Could it be have been a problem to have left it on without using my computer? Like, could it have sped up the optimizing process had I used it?
Probably had no random data available to move forward, moving your mouse helped. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware_random_number_generator#Using_observed_events)

As for the black screen, no ideas.
