Hello,

Does anyone know how to turn off the backlit keyboard when running Vista on the MBP? I have looked into different control panel options, but can't seem to find the right setting. I hate the fact that the keyboard is on the entire time that I am in Vista (battery life decreased, etc). I appreciate any help or suggestions. Thank you.

Theres no way that its hurting your battery, but you can control it with InputRemapper software. You can also control fan speeds and backlight in Vista and XP with it.

Have you tried turning off the backlit before you reboot into Vista?

Well, I do have it disabled in Mac, but I don't know how I would turn it off prior to Win booting (unless you mean disabling it in Mac). Do you mind clarifying when you get a moment? Thank you very much.

Thank you... I am not sure I feel comfortable enough w/ Mac to do any tweaks. Is this something that is reversible? I have used PC forever, so am only just starting to learn Mac.
