Hi i have a 17 g4 powerbook with a dead logic board and I now would like to try a little modding with it. The idea is to buy a cheap digital photo frame, take it apart and atempt to connect it to the screen of the powerbook thus giving me a 17 screen which i can mount within a proper frame. Trouble is.....I dont have a clue how to do it or if it is even possible/viable:confused:. If anyone could shed any light on the matter I would appreciate it.

cheers,

It's pretty much impossible with any laptop screen. You need the motherboard as that has all the controllers. 12" ibook G3s are ideal for digital photo frames though ;).

Just sell your Powerbook for parts. Depending on what 17" screen you got, it might be worth some money for people with broken/cracked LCDs.
