alright, I have a question.... when I'm listening to music and I want to turn off the screen I click the button on the top once and the screen shuts off while I'm still listening to music.

Now, if I want to put the iPod away should I hold the top button until I get the "shut down" slider?

I wanna save as much battery as I can.

its a personal preference I guess really, power off will save more battery power than standby, I use standby and normally only charge once a week

If you want to save a much battery as you can then fully turn of the machine and disable wifi when not in use

I have never used the power off function in day-to-day use, the several times I've done it just for the hell of it I've turned my iPod back on to find booting everything up has consumed a large amount of it's battery. Even with Wi Fi always on I still get a fairly good charge out of my battery.

To turn a Touch on, do a sexy dance in front of it.
To turn it off blow smoke in it's face, and resist brushing your teeth for a month or so. That should do it.

Mine won't turn off. I slipped it a viagra (the 2.0 update with apps) and it's been aroused ever since.

hahaha. LMAO:D

To the OP, it saves more battery if you leave it in standby, with no apps open (on the home screen), with WiFi off, and Location Services off than turning it completely off and on. I have learned this through experience. Plus, who likes to wait while their iPod takes 2 minutes to boot? When I want to hear a song, I want it NOW!
